This Privacy Policy explains how ChironInbox ("Chiron," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and Service.
We do not sell, rent, or distribute your personal data to third parties. Your information is used solely to operate and improve Chiron, communicate with you about your account and subscription, and deliver the digests you've signed up for. That's it.
2.1 Account information. Name, email address, and any subspecialty preferences you select when you sign up or subscribe.
2.2 Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid tier, payment is processed by our third-party payment processor [e.g., Stripe]. Chiron does not store your full card number or payment credentials — that data is held by the processor under its own security and privacy practices.
2.3 Usage data. Basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and how you interact with the Service (e.g., which digests you open), collected to keep the Service running reliably and to understand aggregate usage patterns.
2.4 Communications. If you contact us directly (e.g., support requests, beta feedback), we retain that correspondence to respond to you and improve the Service.
We use your information only to:
Create and manage your account and subscription
Deliver the digests and subspecialty content you've selected
Send subscription-related notifications (e.g., billing, renewal, plan changes)
Send important product updates (e.g., changes to these policies, service interruptions)
Provide customer support
Improve the Service (e.g., understanding which subspecialties or features are most used)
We do not sell your personal data.
We do not share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
We do not send spam. You will only receive emails related to your subscription, important account or product updates, and the digests you've opted into.
We do not use your data to train third-party AI models outside of what's necessary to generate your own digest content.
We rely on a small number of infrastructure providers to operate Chiron, each of which processes limited data strictly on our behalf to provide their service:
These providers are contractually and technically limited to using data only to provide their service to us — none of them are permitted to use your data for their own independent purposes, including marketing.
6.1 You may unsubscribe from non-essential emails (e.g., product updates) at any time via the link in any email.
6.2 Subscription-related notices (e.g., billing confirmations, payment failures) and digests you've actively subscribed to are considered transactional and necessary to the Service; to stop receiving digests, cancel or adjust your subscription in your account settings.
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription or delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 12 months, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or billing-record purposes.
We use industry-standard safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls via Supabase authentication) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we do not treat this obligation lightly given the professional nature of our user base.
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@mail.chironinbox.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Chiron is a literature-digest tool for clinicians and trainees. It is not designed to collect, store, or process patient health information, and you should never submit patient-identifiable information to the Service.
Chiron is intended for licensed healthcare professionals, trainees, and other adult professional users. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect data from, individuals under 18.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notice before they take effect.
